Thank you for visiting the Madison County Tax Collector's website. The Collector's office is responsible for collecting real estate and personal property taxes on all property assessed in Madison County. These taxes are used to help support Schools, Cities, Roads, Jails, Libraries, and other county expenses in Madison County.

The Tax Books are open for payments March 1st - October 15th without penalty.

Disabled Veterans and widows of disabled veterans will need to send in their Award letter to receive their exemptions. (Award letters received after the October 15th deadline will not be accepted for that year's taxes)

Installment payments are available for current taxes!

1st installment March 1 - April 15

2nd installment April 16 - July 15

3rd installment July 16 - October 15

ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED OR POSTMARKED BY OCTOBER 15 TO AVOID A 10% PENALTY

Tax payments may be made by one of the following:

Online payment is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The self-explanatory step-by-step process is now accepting payment by Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Credit Cards for taxpayer convenience. A convenience fee is charged by the service provider. Madison County does not receive any portion of this fee.

3. Drop Box: located on the north side (main entrance) of the Courthouse. Check or money order only. NO CASH please. Please list your phone number on your check or money order.
